Daytime Galactic is typically a solid wake-up call. This year instead of being the Kings of Late Night, Galactic settled into an afternoon groove on the main stage. Michael Franti came out for "Root Down," rapping some Spearhead lyrics on top of Jimmy Smith's groove. Then Warren Haynes joined the band for "Little Miss Lover" and DJ Z-Trip joined Warren and the band for "ZEPP Thing," a funky mix of Zeppelin riffs on the turntables punctuated by Warren's leads on the guitar.
