On a chilly early October night in 1996, a couple hundred heads headed up to Port Chester for what promised to be a
legendary evening at a legendary venue, The Capitol Theater. On the bill: Medeski, Martin, and Wood with opening act moe.
Quite a night, indeed. MMW's performance that night ranged from swallow-the-room-funk to bone-chilling, erie exploration. I was hooked for sure. One of the finest sets I have ever witnessed, by any band or artist.
